Asbestos Paper and Millboard

asbestos corrugated paper

Asbestos mill board (which is similar to cardboard) was often used as a heat protective lining to ovens.

Asbestos paper was commonly used as an insulation product and can be found in heaters and around pipes.

It can also be found in damp course (see also Bitumen) on the underside of lino and PVC tiles and inside metal fire-doors where it acted as a soundproof fireproofing agent.

It was often used in libraries and bank vaults as a fireproof lining for boxes.

Asbestos paper and millboard should only be handled by specialists. Use our quote form to get repair or removal costs from licensed removal companies. If you are not sure whether your material contains asbestos you can also get a cost to get it analysed.
